They need to learn to stock theor key displays better. Ive been to 5 different store locations and none have what i need. Pitiful.
This our go to hardware. Needed cabinet hardware for old cabinets we were restoring. Carly was so helpful even opening a package to make sure it fit the slide bar. Love looking at the new products and Buds nursery each spring.
I'm guessing a big box store has more SKUs but, to my way of thinking, they don't have a better selection. The big box folks are going to stock products that lots of people want--in addition to those, Ashland Ace Hardware has a wider selection of more off-the-wall stuff. For example: Different types of string and rope, garden tools, plumbing parts, nuts and bolts, bird supplies, paint, furnace filters, and on and on.
Typically I'll go to the big box store when I need something quick, and I know exactly what I need (I live about 15 miles from the Ashland Ace). But when I need something out-of-the-ordinary--or have some time to wander around, I definitely prefer Ashland Ace Hardware.
Great customer service, good selection. They keep moving things around inside, but it's not a problem since the employees are ready and willing to point you in the right direction.
Ashland Power Equipment occupies the same space--they are dealers for commercial-quality brands such as Stihl and Cub Cadet and repair equipment (they also repair and maintain other equipment, sharpen chain saw blades, and so on).
Super customer service. Came in looking for a product shown in stock on their website but wasn't found in store. The customer service clerk offered to order for me and in exactly the time frame quoted it came in and I promptly got a call. All the folks there are super friendly.
